The spirit of the ‘80s
The basement of Soho’s Loop Bar was the place to be on Thursday 21 May. SIAS hosted its post-exams party and what better theme could it have chosen than retro ‘80s disco? Sunglasses were the order of the day judging by the bright colours everyone was wearing, in particular the luminous leg warmers sported by some of the girls.
Guests were welcomed at the door with free drinks and party bags, plenty of food was served by the friendly Loop staff and the music made us all “wanna dance with somebody”! Once everyone had made full use of their complimentary drinks vouchers it was time to rock the dance floor. Nicholas Mulholland from RBS loved the Ghostbusters tune, running into the centre of the floor and showing everyone how to dance like they did in the ‘80s. A selection of DVDs were awarded as prizes for best dressed.
A special mention must go to the Hiscox crew. They each dressed the part and even brought along Maverick from Top Gun (also known as Lian Kuo). Thank you all for coming and I look forward to seeing you at the next SIAS event.
