SIAS pub quiz

The annual SIAS pub quiz took place on Thursday 18 May at the City Tavern. There were 18 teams of four. Pizzas and cakes were served and the general feedback was extremely positive.

The format of the quiz was a bit different from previously, with the questions in each round being handed out, instead of read aloud. This helped us fit in ten rounds (including one picture round and two music rounds). It was astonishing to see how well the teams performed on the kiddies’ songs section.

The quiz was won by a team from Munich Re, ‘Nein Pins’ (with a score of 82.5 out of a possible 100) – and they each collected a bottle of red wine for their effort. Second was ‘BW Brain’ from Barnett Waddingham LLP. The wooden spoons went to the team ‘To be decided’ with a score of 56.5.

There was also a prize for the best name. This was awarded to ‘Flogging a dead horse’ – they cleverly kept changing their name after each round.
